Ultimate Dream

Lately, i've been thinking about the things that i want to do the most. Ever since i started watching soccer on tv, i find it very interesting. But when i actually play, it's even more interesting. For those who know me, i'm a huge fan of Liverpool Football Club. I started supporting them since i was 6, and have been an ardent ever since. When i hear the fans singing "You'll Never Walk Alone", i get goosebumps. When i watched the games that they came back from the death (vs AC Milan & West Ham), i felt the adrenaline and i get emotional (tears la). Then i start to imagine myself in Anfield, standing at The Kop with all the fans. I said to myself, my ultimate dream is to go to Anfield and watch Liverpool's game. Just a game will do :)

Thank you Jesus that You'll bless me with the trip to Liverpool and watch them play, and that i'll get to meet the players too :) Just one game will do, Lord :)

Now, guys, if our Father speaks to you and wants you to sponsor me, please be obedient ya :p

Have a good weekend :)

Recognition

On Tuesday, i managed to secure a shipment for company which is about 20tonne from Italy. I have been following on this enquiry for almost two months, and finally i got it :) This is the first BIG shipment secured by any TNT Malaysia staff for our own flight, and yes i'm very proud of it :) It was really God's favour as in the beginning, i did not stand a chance to win the deal because i was competing other agents. The best thing is that, the customer kept coming back to me and ask me to revised the rates. Eventually, we managed to provide our most competitive rates to them. Surprisingly, it was still above what competitor gave. We have business principle that we will not go too low in order not to dilute the rates, and not to get into price war. To cut the story short, on Tuesday, the customer called and said "Mr. Chong, i've just faxed the PO to you. Check whether you received it or not". I was soooooo happy and ran to the fax machine. Yes i got it!!! Talk about God's favours and grace. Mine was slightly higher than the other, but the business was awarded to me :) So, few days before the result was out, i start thanking God for giving me the deal. Claim it first :) Challenge me if you think it's not from God!

Now, the customer does not belong to me. Meaning, the revenue from the shipment will not go into my target and i will not get any incentive. Yup, no commission. Why did i pursue? Well, from the very beginning of negotiation, i already knew i won't get anything out of it. I'm doing it because i want this to be my pilot project and also to increase my portfolio *wink*. You see, monetary reward is not exactly what i was looking for in this case. This is a high profile shipment that even our Regional Office are very interested. To me, recognition for the effort is number 1. Anything more than that, will be bonus.

On Wednesday, my CEO came up to me. He pat my back, shook my hand, and congratulated me :) I can see that he was really happy, not because it's me, but more importantly, company got the deal. He said "Well done Wei Shin. Keep it up. Bring more to the company". Now, that is what recognition is all about :) Not very often you find a CEO talk to their staffs, let alone finding that someone himself and congratulate the person personally.

Ok lah God, now that You have given me 20tonne, what is 30, 40, and even 50tonne to You, right? :) Thanks ya...

Crazy

Aiyah so long didn't update and now don't know what to write :p Nothing much over the last few days. On Monday, attended a function in Sunway Resort Hotel. It's the some brand awareness event, in which a panel of judges chose the best brand in respective category. Apparently, the award is recognised and endorsed by our King :) He was there that night, together with Tun Dr. M, and not forgetting Amber Chia :) :) :) She's not as tall as she looks in mags or ads :p almost the same height as me. Anyways, the event was quite boring, and the food sucks!!! It was so bad that i had 10 buns hahahaha really. And the fact is that we took two tables which costs 12k and 8k, and the food...*sigh* enough said. Anyways, TNT Express won the best award for express and logistics :)

I'm now praying and waiting for a client to give me a huge shipment. Thank You, Jesus :) It's done!!! :) Claiming it :p

Have you ever wondered what are the craziest things that you've done, especially during college and uni. Things that will make you smile to yourself, or even laugh out loud, or even make you blush hehehe. I can immediately recall few incidents on top of my head now hehhe.

1. Took cold shower during winter (can feel that something just shrunk)
2. Had few drinks after class, and went to play football/galah panjang after that (running without direction)
3. Stalking friend who always denied that he's seeing someone, though we know he is (should see his face when he saw me and my friends outside the girl's flat)
4. Stripped a friend to his underwear on his birthday...on the football field while the Murdoch Uni girls team are getting ready for prac hahahaha

Mind to share the craziest thing(s) that you've done? Lets have a good laugh together :)

Take care now...

Saturday, Sunday & Monday

Over the last few days, i managed to eat the food that i've been craving for. On Saturday afternoon, went for lunch with Francis, Geri, Daniel, Teok, and Peter at Haji Samuri satay. I like the satay ayam and satay kambing there. Didn't eat much, just 15 sticks. After that, we chit chat abit and went to church for VYS. After missing futsal for so many weeks, it felt good to be playing again on Saturday. The best thing is, after futsal, we went to Jln Alor for beef noodle. Wah lau eh, i tell you. Ordered large bowl and the soup and the sugarcane hehehe. Then some of us still not satisfied, so we proceed to Chow Kit for nasi lemak hahahah all in the name of food :p Wallop the daging, kerang, telur and obviously the ridiculously small packet of nasi lemak. Anyways, it was a good dinner and supper. Went home happy and full of satisfaction, except the fact that i got to prepare my Sunday School lesson at 12 something :p ooopppss don't let May Ee know heheh at least i prepared my lesson :)

On Sunday after services, the teachers brought the 11-12yr old to play futsal and basketball. It was fun as the kids really enjoyed the games, both boys and girls. We encountered alot of funny kodak moments hehehe. Florence scored an own goal...Lydia always backheel the ball...Hui Yii just stood at one spot...May Ee folded her arms while in the court...Ken Han just ran and ran and ran...Alex just being normal and occasionally showing off his chest by chesting the ball...we have guest appearances ehehhe Pastor Patrick, Uncle Alan Su, Uncle Mark Wong, and Uncle Philip :) All the adults were sporting enough to join us :) After that we went for KFC!!!!!!!!! We were so semangat and determined to eat that even heavy rain cannot stop us :p Had 4 pieces hehehe so the full...if i eat one more, i think i'll just puke :p OK!!! No more KFC for the next few weeks, or maybe months...

Sunday night is the worst feeling, the feeling that Monday is fast approaching. Had an early night coz very very tired. But before that, i found out that my shipments to Singapore are facing some issues. Because i was so tired, i went to bed early. The moment i reached office today, customer called and started raising his voice. I just listened and calm. What? Calm? Yea i was :) Just don't feel like arguing even though it wasn't my fault that the shipment was late. I just let him talk, and after that i explained what happened. Still, he's not happy. Anyways, he called me again and this time, he's calmer and able to talk nicely :) After all, he's not only my client, but also my friend. The whole of today is not smooth, some screwed ups here and there. No sweat man for God is always here to solve my problems *wink*

Ok lah, going back now. Very the hungry :p

Take care...

Part 2 - Belgium

We departed for Belgium via BKK on Thursday night. Before that, all the players were given a set of tracks and were told to wear on Thursday night. Che!!! We all looked like pro hehehe wearing the tracks. Anyways, found out that we'll be travelling by Turkish Airlines. Well, i'm not the kind of person that really bother about which airline i'm taking. Just tell me the departure date/time and arrival day/time will be sufficient for me.

While on the way to the BKK airport, i found out that the journey will be from BKK-Istanbul, Istanbul-Dusseldorf, and Dusseldorf-Lommel. I was like...WAT!!! To some of you, aiyah no big deal what. But look at this: BKK-Istanbul (9 hours), transit in Istanbul for 150minutes, Istanbul-Dusseldorf (150minutes), and Dusseldorf-Lommel (120minutes by coach). Altogether about 15-16hours just to get to Lommel,Belgium.

The moment we arrived Center Parcs Vosemeren (lodging place), we saw colleagues from other countries. Some were nice and friendly, and some were not. After checking in, we went around the Center Parcs. It's a nice place, with indoor tennis courts, heated pool, fishing ponds, etc. After lunch, we took a quick rest and went for one final, light training. The weather was alright, below 20 degrees. On that same night, there was a party for everybody. I went there. Have two drinks. And went back to my room hehehe must be discipline because the tournament starts the next day hehehe.

Actually i very lazy to write about my trip in Belgium :p Therefore, i've decided to write a short one :P

The next day (Saturday), TNT World Cup 2008!!! To cut the story short, we got eliminated in the quarterfinal of the runnerup stage. Along the way, we won two (Windsor & Estonia), drew one (Serbia), and lost three (Belgium, Ukraine & France). What do you expect? They have Shevchenko, Henry, and Ribery. But TNT Asia played well to even qualify for QF.

On Sunday, i went to Amsterdam with few of my colleagues. The train from Lommel to Ams is about 3hrs, and the cost is only about Euro50 (return). Amsterdam is really beautiful, and happening (nope, not talking about red light district). The buildings are very unique, old, and well maintained. The streets were superb. Traffic (what traffic) was good, with just trams and minimal cars. Cafes and pubs are decorated with orange stuffs and flags (euro 2008). All the chairs at the cafes are arranged facing the street :p Things are expensive. Good looking ladies (don't care about guys). This trip was pretty rush (only about 5-6hours) as we have to catch the train back to Lommel. I would love to go to Amsterdam again, and spend longer there. Thank You Jesus :)

Came back to KL on Wednesday night. All in all, it was a fun trip. First time in Europe. Certainly hope there'll be more to come :)

Holidays in Europe, anyone? :p

Part 1 - Bangkok

As you might have already know, a couple of weeks ago i was away for TNT World Cup 2008 held in Lommel, Belgium. This year there were two teams from TNT Asia, and all of us have to gather in Bangkok for 2 days of training. The teams were made up of four from TNT M'sia, four from S'pore, four from Thailand, two from Philippines, two from Vietnam, two from Korea, two from Japan, one from Cambodia, and one from Regional Office. TNT Asia 1 - combination of M'sia, S'pore and Vietnam.

I departed for BKK on the 3rd of June. After checking in, met up with the rest of our colleagues. Had a good dinner with our Singapore counterparts. We clicked immediately, as over the dinner, we joked and share some personal information hehehe. After the dinner, we decided to go for a walk. It was my 9th trip to BKK and heheheh yup my 9th time to BKK...the nightlife in BKK is amazing. There are massage parlours, nightclubs, cafes, karaoke, and pubs all over the place and they open till late. The Thais love to sing, and to party :p

The next morning, we had our first training session under a Brazilian coach from Sao Paolo. Due to time constraint, he can only teach us tactically. Though he's quite old and has huge tummy (like kung fu panda), he still has the technique and brain while playing. Well, not surprised considering that he's Brazilian and been with Sao Paolo FC for 30 years. One more thing, he's very close to Kaka :)

We continued to have 4 training sessions, and had enough time to rest in hotel. Now i know how do those professional footballers feel after their training...it's very very tiring and taxing, and we are not even pro. The best thing about trip paid by company is that, everything has been arranged by destination country, in this case Thailand. My colleague in BKK arranged everything for us from transportation to accommodation to food :p We had a great dinner, ate so much until can't really move hehehe fish, beef, crab, vege, egg, etc...i love Thai food :)

On the 12th of June, after our evening training, all of us got to rush back to hotel to shower and pack our stuffs. The flight from BKK-Belgium is on that night, and we got to go to the airport. After checking in, then only we proceed to have our dinner. We stuffed ourselves with pizzas and Pepsi (the Thais love pepsi).

Oh yeah, did i mention about my Korean colleague, Park aka Mat Kool? hehehe next post la...

Ok la got to go now...it's good to be back to church on the weekend after missing it for a week :)

Take care now...
